YJAG to Mark 1st Anniversary Tomorrow

The Young Journalists Association of The Gambia (YJAG), under the able and dynamic leadership of Mr. Nfamara Jawneh, will tomorrow Tuesday September 16thcelebrate their first anniversary at a ceremony to be held at the NaNa Hall in Kanifing.

The Chief Guest of Honour on this special day is the Honourable Secretary of State for Communication, Information, and Information Technology Mrs. Fatim Badgie Janneh.

Meanwhile, according YJAG official sources, the climax of the celebration will include a march passed from Daily Observer junction in Bakau to the NaNa office's and a drama performance.

The theme of the celebration the sources revealed is "Role of Media in National Development" and other sub topics of the conference are the opportunities and challenges in the media.

The celebration is aimed at reflecting on the achievements and constraints of the young association.

The celebration is expected to be graced by several dignitaries, including diplomats, partners, student journalists, friends of YJAG and media chiefs.

The organising committee is inviting the general public to attend the anniversary.

Meanwhile, as part of the celebration, YJAG is today organising a day-long capacity building workshop for over 40 young journalists and writers in the country at NusratSeniorSecondary School in Bundung
