YJAG to hold congress, 9th Anniversary celebration

The Young Journalists’ Association of the Gambia (YJAG), a body that draws its membership from both the print and electronic media nationwide as well as school-based press clubs in the country is pleased to inform its Members and the general public that it will hold its 5th triennial congress and 9th anniversary celebration on Friday 26 May, 2017.

The grand celebration will be characterised by march-past and presentation of reports as well as election of new executive committee at a local hotel.

The activity is in line with the organization’s constitutional requirement that dictates the leadership to convene an elective congress every three years.

Meanwhile, members and all those young and upcoming journalists interested in joining the association and to participate in the forthcoming congress and anniversary celebration are urged to regularize their status by paying all outstanding due on or before 23 May 2017 through the acting treasurer Mr Kebba Jephang by calling any of the following numbers: 3086738, 6362485 or 7534701.

In the same vein, there will also be a general membership meeting on Friday 19 May 2017 at YJAG office in Churchill’s Town at 4pm.

All members and those interested in becoming members are encouraged to attend and on time as important matters relating to the congress will be discussed.
