YAP, Stakeholders Validates Survey Report

The Youth Ambassadors of Peace (YAP) and other stakeholders in the education sectors last Saturday rap up a two day validation workshop on a base line survey report on school attendance for 2006-2007 in Region two.

The survey which aim at finding empirical evident on the school attendance to facilitate advocacy activities in schools for the improvement in schools attendance and quality of education in general was supported by the Commonwealth Education Fund (CEF)

The program held at the Regional Educational Office in Brikama was officially opened by the Deputy Governor of the Region Mrs. Sainabou Faal.

Speaking on the occasion, governor Fall describes education as a key to development. She encouraged the participants to actively participate in all the deliberations.

Mr. Salifu Jobe, deputizing the Regional Education Director, applauded the YAP for the interest they have shown in the development of the education sector. He stress that the attainment of quality education is every once business.

Meanwhile, addressing the closing ceremony, Ebrima Susso, principal Block Basic Cycle School advised his fellow participants to serve as agents of change in the various schools and communities.

Matar Baldeh, Education for All Campaign Network Coordinator called for an active involvement and sensitisation of parents and communities with regards to the education of their children.

Abdou Boye, Program Coordinator (Peace Education and Advocacy) YAP chaired the closing ceremony.
