Woman Charged with Murder

A 25-year-old woman was yesterday arraigned at the Special Criminal Court Division of the High Court on a charge of murder.

A murder charge had been brought against Kumba Sowe for allegedly murdering a two-year-old child.

According to the particulars of the alleged offence, the accused on 30th November 2008, at Pirang Village in the Western Region murdered one Jakariya Sowe.

Kumba Sowe was first arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before the case was transferred to the Special Criminal Court Division of the High Court, presided by Justice Moses Richards.

The case was adjourned to 5th October 2009.
