The criminal trial involving Jerreh Jarju, officer commanding, National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA) in West Coast Region, and Samba Camara, Station Officer of Sibanor Police Station, recently failed to proceed at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

The two are being tried on four counts of official corruption, public officer receiving property to show favour, abuse of office, and conspiracy to commit misdemeanor. Both have denied the charges.

When the case was called, the police prosecutor, Inspector Mballow, who held brief for Superintendent Trawally, informed the court that the prosecution witness who supposed to testify in the case was engaged on an official duty and therefore could not come to court.

The case was subsequently adjourned till 17 August 2011.
