Wilful damage to property case heard

The Kanifing Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate A.K. Ceesay recently heard a criminal case of wilful damage to property brought against one Modou Ceesay.

According to the particulars of offence, on 8th August 2010, at Bundung Garage in Serrekunda, the accused, Modou Ceesay broke the front windscreen of a ten-passenger van with a registration number, BJL 6331F, valued at D7, 000, being the property of one Lamin Sanyang.

He was granted bail with conditions that he should fulfil.

The case was adjourned to 20th August 2010 for continuation.

In a separate development, one Yankuba Minteh was also recently arraigned before Magistrate A.K. Ceesay of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, charged with threatening violence.

According to the charge sheet, on 11th August 2010, at Bakau Farokono, in the Kanifing Muncipality, the accused, Yankuba Minteh with intent to intimidate or annoy, threatened to kill his mother one Bintou Jaiteh with a knife by brandishing the same towards her.

Meanwhile, the accused who pleaded not guilty to the charge was remanded in custody.

The case was subsequently adjourned to 23rd August 2010 for continuation.
