Wilful damage, threatening violence case progresses

The trial for wilful damage to property and threatening violence, involving one Ahmadou Muner Jallow, continued recently at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Tabally.

Testifying before the court, the third prosecution witness (PW3), CPL Alasana Sanneh, said he recognised the accused person, and that he knew the complainant as well.

Coporal Sanneh said, on 14 November 2010, he was on duty at the Kairaba Police Station, when the complainant, Ebrima Jallow, lodged a complaint against the accused.

He added that the complainant told him that the accused had damaged his window glass, door glass and the gate of his compound, by using a stone and an iron bar.

CPL Sanneh further indicated that he visited the scene, and found out that the items mentioned earlier were damaged.

"I later confronted the accused at the police station, and he confessed causing damage in the said compound," PW3 told he court.

He said he made a statement to that effect.

The case was adjourned to 17 January 2011.
