USA College Professor Appeal Case Heard

africa » gambia
Wednesday, July 01, 2009

Doctor Lamin Sanneh, a USA College Professor and a Gambian national resident in the United States of America had filed an appeal case against one Ebrima Nanko at the Banjul High Court, but due to the lack of jurisdiction the case has now been transferred to Brikama High Court before Justice Ngui-Mboob-Janneh.

On the resumption of the matter yesterday Tuesday 30th June 2009, at the Brikama High Court, the case was mentioned but could not proceed into a full trial, due to the fact that both parties were absent in the court.

This appeal culminated from a judgement delivered by the Kombo North District Tribunal, Chief Alhagie Dembo Sanyang, dated 25th June 2008, of which he was not satisfied.

According to the particulars of claim, Ebrima Nanko is claiming from Dr. Lamin Sanneh a land located at Busumbala, which the defendant had "illegally obtained on and built a house there and thus wants him to vacate the area."
