UK Insurance Company Donates to KMC Disaster Victims

Home Sarves Insurance, a UK based Insurance company through Mr. Robert Jones a British national has donated four cartons of charity T-shirts to the disaster victims of Ebo-town and new Jeshwang on Monday 20th April 2009.

The presentation ceremony took place at Ebo town /New Jeshwang Councillor Momodou Badjie's compound in the presence of the Kanifing Municipal Council disaster management committee members.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Jones who presented the items to the beneficiaries on behalf of Home Sarves Insurance said the donation was made possible through Musa Mendy who appealed to him for aid during his last trip to the Gambia in November/December 2008. Mr. Jones described the condition of the victims as very sad but promised them that he would do more to gather more items for them in UK. He also advised them to make the best use of the items donated to them. According to Mr. Jones, Home Sarves Insurance Company was established ten years ago specialized in insurance business. He commended the people of Ebo-town for the warm welcome accorded to him.

For his part, the Chairman of the KMC disaster management committee, Mr. Musa Mendy, a Gambian friend to Mr. Jones said the items were available following discussions with Mr. Jones. Mr Mendy said over fifty victims both in Ebo town and New Jeshwang benefited from the gesture and promised them that his committee will continue to help fire and flood victims within the KMC for the sake of humanity. Njaga Jarjue and Ms. Fatou Sanyang who gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed their appreciation to Mr. Jones and Mr. Mendy for the kind assistance rendered to them. Both Jarjue and Sanyang promised the donors that the items given to them will be properly taken care of.
