The Gambia's U-17 team yesterday morning arrived in Calabar, Nigeria, barely a week before the start of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The team left the country on Sunday night and have since arrived in Nigeria, the following day as they set to open the World Cup campaign with a game against Iran on Sunday October 25 in Calabar before meeting Neither land in what could be described as the toughest encounter for the Darling Scorpions, slated for Wednesday 28th October in Calabar.

The two time Africa U-17 champions will wrap-up their group fixtures with a game against Colombia on October 31st.

They were to be involved in their first training session yesterday evening in Calabar as part of the preparation for their opening World Cup encounter against Iran.
