U-13 Cricket Team Set for Ghana Next Month

The date has finally been set for the Gambia Cricket Association U-13 team's participation in the International Olympic Committee U-13 qualifiers in Ghana next month, revealed Johnny Gomez, Gambia Cricket Association President.

The tournament which will feature affiliate countries of the ICC namely: The Gambia, Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Cameroon and Mali is set to kick off on April 18th and wraps up on April 24th 2009.

The six participating countries ranked under affiliates of the ICC, will battle for a single spot and the winner shall proceed to the next round to meet the Associate members of the ICC for the qualifying rounds of the world cup.

As part of their preparatory efforts, the Gambia U-13 cricket team has been vigorously training for four months.
