Two
soldiers, Corporal Momadou Lamin Badjie and Corporal Yusupha Sanneh, have been
arrested and detained since last week, The Point has gathered.
The
public relations officer of the Gambia Armed Forces, Lt Colonel Omar B. Bojang,
confirmed the information, saying the men were taken under custody for
allegedly failing to perform their military duties in Kanilai village thereby
compromising the ongoing operation at the border village.

Col Bojang said the matter is being investigated by the military police and
military intelligence.
