Habibou Nyang and Hadim Janko were recently arraigned before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Brikama Magistrates' Court for General offence relating to the environment protection and safety contrary to section 51 (a) of the National Environment Management laws of The Gambia.

According to the particulars of the offence, on 28th November 2008, at Brikama, the two accused persons were found or discovered to have been engaged in business of importing gas bottle and keeping them at store within the neighbourhood without any prior NEA approval about the environment impact to society.

When the charge sheet was read to them, both pleaded not guilty and they were given self-bail.

The case was at length adjourned to 14th January 2009.
