James Sambou and Malick Uthman were recently arraigned before Magistrate Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, jointly charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, that is, house breaking and stealing.

The charge sheet in count one read that on 27 December 2014, at Kotu in the Kanifing Municipality, they jointly conspired to steal.

Count two read that they broke and entered into the house of one Sulayman Touray with intent to commit a felony.

Count three stated that they stole two mattresses valued at D1,700 each, being the property of the said Sulayman Touray.

They denied the charges, and were each granted court bail of D15,000 and a surety, who must be a Gambian and should swear to an affidavit of means.
