Two Acquitted For Forgery

Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara of the Bundung Magistrates'Court last Wednesday acquitted and discharged Ismalia Ceesay and Samba Bah for the offence of being in possession of implements use for the purpose of forgery.

In her judgement, Magistrate Sillah-Camara stated that the prosecution in trying to prove their case called in two witnesses, while the defense also called in two witnesses. She added that there is no evidence from the prosecution witnesses to show that the items in question are purposely for forgery. She indicated that none of the prosecution witnesses know the use of the said implement, and therefore holds that the implement found with the accused persons was not meant for forgery.

Magistrate Sillah-Camara further stated that the prosecution had woefully failed to prove their case beyond all reasonable doubt as the evidence relied on by the prosecution falls short of securing a conviction.
