Today: Four tough matches in GFA Week 4 league fixtures

Four top guns in the Gambia Football Association’s top flight league will later today line up for their fourth league fixtures hoping to shine, as the lucrative league campaign continues to gather pace, Pointsport can confirm.

Armed Forces, Young Africans, Brikama United and Steve Biko will all be looking to add maximum points to their rank when they entertain Serekunda United, Hawks, GPA and Wallidan at the Father Gough Sports Complex, KG5 Mini-Stadium, Serekunda East and the Independence Stadium respectively.

All four teams have had some mixed fortune so far in this campaign, especially Wallidan, whose dismal start to the 12-club league competition has seen them only manage one point in three games losing two of their last three encounters in the process.

The same scenario can be said of Wallidan’s city rivals Real de Banjul, who have also endured some terrible moments winning two out of three and only managed to secure a point.

The latter was facing the prospect of entering yesterday’s game with Gamtel with huge pressure on their shoulders as they look to avoid further slump in form.

Armed Forces, who won only one game which came in their 1-nil win over Real de Banjul last week, will meet debutant Serekunda United, whose impressive commencement to the league saw them collect four points out of possible nine.

The two sides will come face to face at Manjai, while promoted Hawks of Banjul also struggling for form are expected to resume the campaign when they take on Young Africans, who collected five points.

GPA and reigning champions Brikama United, both on five points, will be looking to add another maximum point in their rank as they prepare to face each other at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Blue boys Wallidan and Steve Biko are set to continue their tense rivalry with another crucial week-4 clash at the Serekunda East Mini-stadium.
