A Magistrate Court in Kanifing recently gave 7 days ultimatum to the defendants, Sulayman Singhateh, Junkunda Jallow and Essa Dampha to pay the plaintiff, IBAS, or else they would be arrested.

Sulayman Singhateh who represented the defendants, Yeriwaa Kafoo told the court that efforts had been made to repay the loan, but to no avail.

In his ruling, Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke told the defendants' representative that the court was not convinced that efforts have been made to pay the loan, hence no single butus has been paid since judgment was entered in favour of the plaintiff, IBAS.

Consequently, he ordered them to pay the outstanding balance of D40, 163 and court's costing of D300 within 7 days, failing which they would be arrested and remanded in custody.
