Teacher Testifies in Defilement Case

Mr Ebrima Jallow, a teacher at SOS HermanMeinnerSchool in Bakoteh, recently testified at the Bundung Magistrates' Court in the trial of one Lamin Sillah who is standing trial for defilement.

Mr Sillah was alleged some time in March, at Manjai Kunda, to have defiled an underage girl, a charge he denies.

Testifying, Mr Jallow told the court that the accused, some time in the month of March this year, took the victim to his room and slept with her overnight.

He adduced that when the victim returned home she was asked by her grandmother where she spent the night and she said at the accuseds' house. He told the court  that the victim later took her grandmother to the accused.

Mr Jallow further told the court that the matter was reported to the Serekunda Police Station and the accused was subsequently arrested. He added that the victim was taken to the Serekunda Health Centre for medical examination where it was confirmed by the doctors that the victim had sexual intercourse with some one.
