Taiwan president's special envoy to arrive today

A special envoy of President Ma Ying-Jeou of Taiwan is due to arrive in Banjul today, according to a press release issued by the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Banjul.

The emissary who is President of the ROC (Taiwan) Legislative Yuan H.E. Jin-Pyng Wang is leading a 15-person delegation, which will visit The Gambia from 20th July through 22nd July 2010.

He was delegated by the ROC President H.E. Ma Ying-Jeou as the Special Envoy to attend the Gambian July 22nd Celebrations.

During his visit, Jin-Pyng Wang is scheduled to have an audience with President Yahya Jammeh to convey President Ma's personal message.

He will also pay a visit to Hon. Elizabeth Renner, the Speaker of the National Assembly.

The Taiwanese delegation comprises six legislators namely, Hon. Fong-Chi Chu, Hon. Hsiu-Chu Hung, Hon. Wei-Kang Pan, Hon. Li-Huan Yang, Hon. Li-Yun Chao, Hon. Ting-Son Wang, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Ssu-Tsun Shen, and other high-ranking officials.
