Testifying for the prosecution, one Yankuba Senghore told the court that on 9th January 2010, at Wellingara while sitting opposite the shop of the complainant, he saw the accused in front of the shop.

According to him, the complainant was at the time performing his prayers inside his shop and the accused therein entered the complainant’s shop and stole the items as mentioned in the charge sheet.

He said when the complainant heard the noise he stopped his prayers because he thought it was his customer who normally supplies him bread, but instead it was the accused. He said the complainant then shouted for help and subsequently the accused was apprehended and taken to the police station.
