Swaebou Conateh - Proprietor, Gambia News & Report Magazine

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Once more, it's a sad occasion. It reminds us of a dear friend whose untimely departure did very little to help the journalism profession in the country. His absence from our midst has left a big vacuum, which has yet to be filled.

We express our sympathy to the family and the staff of The Point Newspaper and pray that his soul rests in perfect peace. We also renew the universal request for the authorities to get down to the bottom of the problem and resolve the mystery of his death for once and for all.

This is in the interest of justice and in line with expectations under the rule of law.
