Testifying, Sgt 1472 Touray told the court that in 2010 he was at the New Yundum Police Station when he received information that there was an accident at Lamin NTC junction involving two vehicles and a motorbike.

He said he visited the scene and was told that the victim had been rushed to the Banjulinding Health Centre, adding that a sketched plan was constructed and the accused person was later taken to the New Yundum Police Station.

Officer Touray further adduced that he went to the health centre to visit the victim and was told by the nurse in charge that the victim, Yunus Bah, a police officer, had passed away and there was arrangement for the victim to be taken to the RVTH.

He added that on his return from the health centre, the accused's vehicle with registration number BJL 6525E was tested and the accused signed the tested certificate.

The said tested certificate was tendered and admitted as exhibit.

Under cross-examination by defence counsel Awa Sisay-Sabally, the witness told the court that when he visited the scene he did not find the victim there.

The case at that juncture was adjourned till 17 March 2011.
