A man called Momodou Sannu Jallow was recently arraigned before
Magistrate Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with sale of food
unfit for human consumption.
The charge sheet read in court stated that the accused, Momodou Sannu Jallow, on 26 August 2014 at Serrekunda Market in the Kanifing Municipality, willfully and unlawfully offered for sale meat to the public, knowingly or having reason to believe that the said meat was unfit for human consumption.
He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D50,000 with a Gambian surety who must swear to an affidavit of means and deposit an ID card.
Hearing was adjourned to 23 December 2014.
