Sanna Nyassi's Seattle Sounders in Third Win

Monday, May 17, 2010

Sanna Nyassi's Seattle Sounders 78th minute  goal from, Montero was enough to register their third victory of the year in the US Major League Soccer on Saturday at Red Bull Arena.

The goal came, courtesy of a fabulous bit of skill from the substitute, handed the 2010 New York Red Bulls two firsts - consecutive losses and defeat at home. The victors return to Seattle with a victory that should  clam down their supporters after a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Galaxy last weekend to moved to 6th and 12 points on the table.

Early Seattle action and a brief tussle between Seth Stammler and Sanna Nyassi deceived fans into expecting a quality half of soccer.

The one Red Bull opportunity came after a sequence of cuts by Joel Lindpere led to Nyassi fouling him a few yards outside Seattle's penalty box. Captain Juan Pablo Angel struck a dipping freekick that evaded the cross bar and skimmed over the top of the net.

In the 53rd minute, a sliding Danleigh Borman was just barely to keep the match tied after Nyassi evaded a stranded Bouna Coundoul. Nyassi was played through and touched past the overly aggressive Senegalese keeper, but Borman pushed away the soft shot as the ball approached the goalmouth.

Ken Abdoulie Mansally and Sainey Nyassi's New England Revolution shared points with San Jose Earthquakes in Saturday's goaless encounter at home in the Major League Soccer.

In front of 13,611 fans at Gillette Stadium, the New England Revolution stepped up its play against a hot San Jose Earthquakes side to get a point in a scoreless tie Saturday night.

Sainey Nyassi could have  chance the score sheet to 1-0 in the 43rd  minute but the ball was bat away from goal leaving them  eight points and 6th in the table,

Emmanuel Gomez and A. Sanyang's Toronto FC were also held to 0-0 by Los Angeles Galaxy. The result of which leaves them 3rd and10 points.
