Rhinos Rugby Football Club set to organise academic tourney

Rhinos Rugby Football Club are set to organise an end of academic year Rugby tournament for six lower basic schools, according to its President Ngagne Demba Sarr.

The tournament, expected to take place last week before the end of the academic year at Bakau Lower Basic School grounds, will feature lower basic schools such as Bakau, Bundung, Serrekunda, Latrikunda Sabiji, Yalding and Old Yundum Lower Basic schools.

Rhinos Rugby Football Club also recently concluded a Lower Basic School Tag Rugby tournament for both boys and girls.

The competition, staged at the Latrikunda Sabiji Lower Basic School on 24 May 2013, was won by the host school.

In the male category, Latrikunda Sabiji LBS emerged as winners with 15 points; Bundung LBS came out second with 9 points plus 5 tries.

Serrekunda LBS took third with 9 points plus 3 tries while Bakau LBS occupied fourth with 3 points.

In the female category, Latrikunda Sabiji also came out first with 15 points, with Bundung LBS occupying second spot again with 11 points.

Serrekunda LBS came out third position with 7 points while Bakau LBS finished fourth position with 3 points.

Sarr said they are also planning to have an international friendly game with Sacks of Senegal before the beginning of Ramadan.

Billy, as he is widely called, concluded by calling on sponsors to come forward and support the club.
