Profile- Alieu Ceesay

Alieu Ceesay, alias Papis, is among the young promising stars in Dippakunda.

 

His dribbling skills and movement is quick like Zidane and his amazing and exciting movement has attracted Coaches in Serrekunda West and its environs.

Born in 1993 in Dippakunda he started playing football at a tender age in the streets of Dippakunda with his colleagues and went ahead to feature for Serrekunda Lower Basic School team during his time at the Primary School.

Papis first Nawettaan team at Serrekunda East was Dongon FC where he spent two years before joining Pencha Bi FC in the Serrekunda West Nawetan following the relegation of Dongon FC.

Also a star of Cherno Samba Football Academy, he spent five years and his brilliant performance attracted Samger Coach Jane Joof, who called him in his first team and was part of Samger squad that lifted the GFA super cup last year after defeating Wallidan 2-1.

Papis also contributed to the success of Pencha Bi FC in this year's Serrekunda West Nawetaan after helping them reached the Serrekunda West knock-out final.

The 16-year-old midfielder was also selected in this year's Serrekunda West Zonal team but was later dropped.

Papis' exclusion in the Serrekunda West Zonal team was a surprise to many football fans in the areas as he was part of the players voted for in this year's Serrekunda West player award, but because of his red card in the knock-out semi- final he lost it to his contestant.

Papis as he is widely known like many players is aiming to play for the national U-17.
