Principal 's Indecent Act Case Adjourned

africa » gambia
Wednesday, March 25, 2009

The trial involving Almameh Dukureh, the Principal of one of the boarding schools situated at Old Yundum in Kombo North, on Monday resumed at the Brikama Magistrates' Court.

The case could not proceed as the police prosecutor, ASP Touray, told the court that his last witness, who testified on the last adjourned date, was not in court.

He adduced that witness should have been in court for cross-examination and he therefore applied for an adjournment.

The matter was subsequently adjourned to the 31st March 2009.

It could be recalled that the accused, Almameh Dukureh, is standing trial for an alleged criminal offence of indecent act between males, at a boarding school, which he heads. He had since denied the charge.
