The president of the Gambia Football Federation, Lamin Kabba Bajo, has said the performance of the Gambia national team against Namibia was not dismal despite their 1-1 draw with Brave Warriors in the first leg tie of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at the weekend.

Kabba Bajo was speaking to reporters shortly after the game.

He argued that the boys had done their best, adding that he was not too pleased with the result as he wanted the team to win but managed to grab a point.

Kabba Bajo further said they wish the team to win, noting that the performance against Namibia was not dismal although he was not backing the boys.

The GFF president hailed the team for grabbing a point against Namibia, saying the team is being built for the future.

Kabba Bajo pointed out that the future of coach Raoul Savoy is bright and they would continue to work with him.

He added that the GFF still has confidence in the coach and are therefore building the team for more competitions.
