Operafrica conducts eye surgery in Gunjur

Operafrica, a United Kingdom-based charitable organisation, Saturday embarked on massive eye operation exercise in Gunjur village.

The annual eye surgery brought together patients from Gunjur and its surrounding villages.

In an interview with The Point newspaper, Janice Cairns of Operafrica said they operate 50 people every year and so far 400 people have benefited from the operation since inception, eight years ago.

She said the annual eye operation has transformed the lives of many people and their families.

Cairns applauded the medical staff for their tireless support during the surgery.
