Njawara Marathon slated for July 31st

The 15 edition of the Njawara Marathon is scheduled for July 31st in Njawara.

In an interview with Pointsport yesterday, Ebou Faye Njie, a member of the organising committee said the theme for this year's event is "Run for Njawara Maternity Ward," adding that the choice of the theme is because of the growing need for the community health post, which he said, is in a dilapidated condition.

He pointed out that the health post serves not only Njawara community, but also catchment areas that comprise eleven villages with a population of about 35,000 people, majority of whom are women.

Njie stated that for this year's event there will be a 10KM race, commencing from Kerewan to Njawara, 5KM race, starting from Dasilami to Njawara and the last event- 3Km race from Turo Ba to Njawara.
