The football community in Banjul have to spare and wait for another date, Wednesday 19thNovember 2008, to discover a new victor between the mighty Ngoyan and Plumbi United in the 2008 knockout final in Banjul.

The well-contested final played at the Banjul Mini Stadium, fondly called KF5, was marked by elated euphoria on the part of the crowd and an excellent display of football between the two teams on the pitch who stood at each other's throats for victory.

However, both teams enjoyed plenty of possession particularly, after the 14thminute of the first half when Ngoyan F.C scored the first goal of the match through Tafha. After this scene the whole game sprung to life after Plumbi fell behind to Ngoyan's early goal.

Despite the early lead taken by Ngoyan, Plumbi United continued to put up a good performance up to the 35thminute of the first half when Ous Jagne Plumbi's giant striker netted the equaliser.

Mid-way into the second half, the free style George Cole of all people wasted a fine opportunity from a long range cross from the left flank which he tapped but was neatly saved by the Plumb's goalkeeper at the expense of a corner.

The Head Coach for Ngoyan, Mr. Modou Bah, said that after having a test of the first final they will now work on their weak areas to help them have an easy ride over their opponent in the re-scheduled final. He called on all parties to maintain discipline noting that without it anything is difficult to achieve.
