NADD VS APRC in Foday Kunda By-election Friday, December 19, 2008 The
Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) yesterday nominated Mr Malamin Darboe
through the ruling APRC party for the position of councillor for the Foday
Kunda Ward in the Basse Area Council. For the same ward, the IEC also nominated Mr Alhagie Kanteh through the opposition National Alliance for Democracy and Development (NADD) ticket for the position of councillor. Therefore, according to a statement from the IEC, a by-election will take place in accordance with Section 53, subsection (2) (a) of the same Decree, in order to fill the position of councilor for Foday Kunda Ward on 8th January 2009.
