Murder Case Continues

The murder case involving one Babucarr Senghore, Alieu Manneh, Sheriff Manneh and Alhagie Ceesay continued recently at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul.

Momodou Janka testified as the fourth prosecution witness (PW4) and told the court that he recognised all the accused persons and on 12 July 2011, he was in his house when he heard some shouting outside.

He went out and saw a man holding a bench running, he said, adding that he followed him to the junction and found the deceased, Sahou Gaye, lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

The witness added that he found two men standing beside the deceased and asked those men to take the deceased to the police station.

He also said he could not recognise the person holding the bench.

At that juncture, the case was adjourned.

The incident allegedly took place on 12 July 2011, at Wellingara Village, in the Kombo North District of the West Coast Region, where the accused persons - Babucarr Senghore, Alieu Manneh, Sheriff Manneh and Alhagie Ceesay - murdered one Sahou Gaye by hitting him with a bench.
