Mother testifies against son

A woman recently testified against her son, Muhammed Secka, before Magistrate Siranding of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court.

Aji Fatoumatta Dampha, in her testimony as the first prosecution witness, told the court that she recognised the accused, Muhammed Secka, as her son.

She told the court that on 25 March 2011, at around 2:30 a.m, the accused came into the compound drunken while they were sleeping and broke the window glass and door glass.

According to her, they called the police at the Kanifing Estate Police Station, who came and arrested the accused person.

The charge sheet read that on 25 March 2011, at Kanifing South in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Muhammed Secka, threw stones and sticks, which caused damage to the door glass, window glass and a television valued at D1,700, being the property of his mother, Agi Fatoumatta Dampha.

 The case was then adjourned till 6 April 2011.
