Mobile technician testifies in court

One Alieu Hydara, a mobile phone technician and a resident of Brakama Jamisa recently testified at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magisrate E.A. Amadi in the criminal trial of shopbreaking and stealing involving one Modou Camara.

In his testimony, the prosecution witness Alieu Hydara told the court that on the day in question his apprentices informed him that someone had broken into his workshop.

According to him, when he visited the workshop to see for himself, he proceeded to report the matter to the Brikama Police Station.

He adduced that when he went to the workshop with the police they have discovered that 8 double-sim mobile phones were missing.

He stated that on a certain day, a boy came to the workshop with a double sim phone, bearing the picture of Obama, which he identified as one of his missing phones.

Mr. Hydara further revealed that he took the boy to police who also claimed that the mobile phone was given to him by one Jaly, whom he said, was subsequently arrested.

He said further investigation led to the arrest of the accused, Modou Camara.

The case was adjourned to 9th March 2010.
