Medina FC Suffers Setback In SK East Nawattan

Medina FC on Tuesday 11th August 2009, suffered yet another defeat in the hands of Abuko United 1-0 in the ongoing Serekunda East Nawettan championship, at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Both sides played beautiful football in the first half of the game and had several scoring opportunities in each other's goal mouth, but they couldn't make use of them.

In the resumption of the second half, Medina FC who lose their first match in this year's Serrekunda East Nawettan Championship came all out and mounted pressures on Abuko and created dead clear cut chances, but failed to capitalise on their limited chances, while Abuko United FC relied on counter attacks and got solid defence line that dispossessed all Medina FC's attacks.

Abuko United FC lone goal came in the 69th minute, courtesy of Halifa Jarju from a brilliant header. Medina FC who wanted to avoid being qualified in next season fought back and got some occasional goal attempts, failed to level the tally until the 90th minute of play ended 1-0 in favour of Abuko United FC.

Abuko United FC bagged 3 points from one game, while Medina FC are yet to collect a point since the start of the championship a week ago.

Earlier on Monday, Zurich FC drew 1-1with Culture FC, Zurich FC goal was scored by Saikou Mansally from penalty spot in the 8th minute of the game, while Culture FC goal was registered by Alagie B Fofana in the 54th minute.

Culture FC's Bakary Jaiteh was sent off for second bookable  offence in the 59th minute of the game.
