Marimoo flinch 2nd tier campaign in terrific fashion

Marimoo have begun their 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation second division league campaign in specular fashion after hammering Lamin United 4-1 in their opening fixtures played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium at the weekend.

The Manjai-based outfit, who missed promotion berth to the premier league to Bakau giant killers Steve Biko last season, finally bagged the vital three points after notching four excellent goals to snatch away their first victory in the second tier.

The newly-promoted side PSV Wellingara beat relegated side Bakau United 1-0 at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

Tallinding United also beat another relegated side Interior on the same score-line at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

The newly-promoted side Brufut United thumped Young Africans 2-0 at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Blue Star lost to the newly-promoted side Lions of Banjul 1-0 in the other week one fixtures played at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.

Marimoo are leading the second tier with 3 points in one game following their 4-1 win over Lamin United in their opening fixtures, and Brufut United are 2nd place in the second tier with 3 points in one match after thumping Young Africans in their opening fixtures.

PSV Wellingara, Tallinding United and Lions of Banjul are 3rd, 4th and 5th places in the second tier with 3 points each in one outing after beating Bakau United, Interior and Blue Star in their opening league fixtures.

Bakau United, Blue Star, Young Africans and Lamin United are struggling in the second tier with zero points in one game after losing to Marimoo, Brufut United, Lions of Banjul, PSV Wellingara and Tallinding United in their opening league matches.
