Man in court for alleged impersonation

One Foday Ndong was recently arraigned before Magistrate Gomez of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with personating a public officer and breaking into a dwelling house with intent to commit a felony.

He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D50,000 with a Gambian surety who must deposit an ID card.

The charge sheet in count one stated that the accused, Foday Ndong, on 3 August 2015 at Dippa Kunda in the Kanifing Municipality, falsely represented himself to be a police officer and broke into one Abubacarr Saho’s house with intent to steal therein, which representation was false and he knew it to be false.

Count two stated that he broke into the said Abubacarr Saho’s house with intent to commit a felony.

The case was adjourned to 31 August 2015.
