Man Arraigned for Allegedly Stealing from NAWEC

One Mr. Gibriel Wakka was on 11th March 2009 brought before Magistrate B.O. Jobe of the Bundung Magistrates' court charged on three counts.

On Count 1, on 9th January 2009, at NAWEC Branch in Latrikunda Sabiji the accused allegedly stole a receipt book, being the property of NAWEC.

 In count 2, on 27th December 2008, at Latrikunda Sabiji NAWEC branch, the accused with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of D2, 530 and D2, 750 from Alhagie Yankuba and Sheriff Sawaneh, to settle their electricity and water bills knowing such representation to be false.

While in count 3, the offence stated that on 9th January 2009 at the same place, the accused allegedly forged a receipt and pretended that he was the NAWEC collector Mr. Conteh. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against him.

Meanwhile he was granted court bail in the sum of D100, 000.

The case was adjourned to 16th March 2009.
