Man arraigned in court

One Tijan Bojang of Sukuta village was on 9th February 2010, arraigned before Magistrate Lamin George of the Bundung Magistrates' Court for allegedly obtaining money by false means.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused Tijan Bojang sometime in the year 2002, at Sukuta village, Kombo North, by false pretence obtained an amount of D72, 000 from Ousman Jammeh by selling him a plot of land, that he knew does not belong to him.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him and further requested for an adjournment on the grounds that he wanted to secure the service of a legal counsel.

Meanwhile, the accused was granted bail on the condition that he shall produce two Gambian sureties who shall enter into recognition the sum of D75, 000 each with their ID card.

The case was adjourned to 15th March 2010.
