La Sirenes Du Senegal Beats Red Scorpions

africa » gambia
Tuesday, April 14, 2009

La Sirenes of Senegal locked horns with the Division 1 side, Red Scorpions, at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Sunday.

The match, which was a friendly, but heated match, got the spectators at the edges of their seats. The match ended 1-0 in favor of the Sirenes. The Senegalese female giants showed that they were none the worse for wear from their weary journey when their No11, Bassine Thiam, took the plunge and scored at the 39th minute.

'The match was good, free and fair. I really must congratulate the Red Scorpions since they played exceptionally well," said Modou Sarr, coach of the Sirenes of Senegal.

He admitted that his girls prepared very well before coming to the Gambia.
