Tanji on Sunday thrashed Batokunku 3-0 at the Tanji Football Field to snatch their first victory in the 2015 Kombo South district football tournament.

Tanji and Batokunku made a slow start to the 2015 Kombo South district football tournament after their 1-all draw with Nyofelleh and Mamuda in their opening game prior to their Sunday clash.

Tanji snatched the vital three points after scoring three brilliant goals to secure their first win in the Kombo South district’s biggest football carnival.

The defeat was Bakunku’s first-ever defeat in the Kombo South district football tournament after their 3-0 defeat to Tanji at the Tanji football field at the weekend.

Mamuda beat Nyofelleh 1-0 at the Jambanjelly football field to clinch their first victory in the Kombo South district football tournament on Saturday.

Banyaka beat Gunjur Kunkujang on the same score-line at the Banyaka football field to bounce back in the Kombo South district football fiesta after losing to Tujereng 1-0 in the opening game played at the Tujereng football field last month.

Tujereng drew 1-1 with Jambanjelly at the Jambanjelly football field. Reigning champions Sifoe came from one nil down to draw 1-1 with debutant Pacholing at the Sifoe football field on Friday.

Elsewhere, Kartong drew goalless with Berending at the Berending football field on the same day.

Kartong and Sifoe are leading group A with 2 points each in two games whilePacholing and Berending are with a single point in one game, and both sides will play against each on Wednesday 3 June 2015, at the Sanyang football field.

Tanji are leading group B with 4 points in two games; Mamuda are second with 4 points in two games, while Nyofelleh and Batokunku are third and fourth places with each a single point in two outings.

Jambanjelly and Tujereng are leading group C with each 4 points in two games.

Banyaka are third with 3 points in two games, while Gunjur Kunkujang are fourth place with zero points in two games after losing two opening games.
