Kellers FC registered a dramatic 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory against Ajax to lift the annual Henwum sponsored Junior Championship trophy which wrapped-up in Banjul on Sunday.

The entire 90 minutes of a well-attended final played in the Capital city over the weekend, was characterised by a thrilling encounter between the two sides, but both failed in their attempts to break the deadlock.

Ajax despite failing to win the annual championship title has put in a respectable performance, and dominated the 1st interval but their hope of netting any goal was occasionally frustrated by Kellers goalkeepers, Lamin Saho who was crowned the most outstanding player of the day with several world class saves in both intervals.

Modou Baldeh could have capitalised on one of his side's best chances of a titanic final when he was left unmarked at the edge of the opponent's penalty area but it appeared that he was never part of the game as a result of the lack of concentration.

Kellers FC were awarded a giant trophy and an undisclosed fee, while Ajax that finished as the runners-up also collected an undisclosed amount.

The ultimate objective of staging the annual Henwum Junior Championship is part of the organising committee’s efforts to promote and develop sports at the grassroots level.
