Kanbengo Foundation has done it again!

Feb 24, 2011, 12:10 PM

We welcome the recent training of health workers on maintaining a safe and supportive environment by Kanbengo Foundation of The Gambia and their Dutch counterpart Zorg Maat Werk.

Actually, any little intervention to boost the country’s health sector needs to be recognized and applauded.

The maintenance of a safe and supportive environment is key in health care settings. It is important for health workers in improving their work environment.

It is the duty of the officers in charge of health facilities in the country to make sure that the sanitary conditions in their respective facilities are improved.

A clean environment is obviously a healthy environment.

In fact, when our health facilities are well cleaned, it would greatly improve the health of both the patients and workers there.

We would also like to thank the Dutch organization for funding the training of the health workers. We urge them to continue supporting the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

We call on the trained officials to implement the knowledge again during the training workshop, and put into practice the skills acquired for the betterment of the sector.

Health is a cross-cutting issue, and thus it should be the business of everybody to contribute towards the development of national health.

Once more, we salute the Kanbengo Foundation and partners for their contribution to the socio-economic development of The Gambia.

In the same vein, our commendation goes to Wassu Kafo for also supporting the country’s health sector.
