Kairaba Pharmacy donates drugs to Ministry of Health

Kairaba Pharmaceutical Company has donated huge medical drugs to the Ministry of Health, meant to support the ministry in its efforts in the prevention and control of covid-19 pandemic. The donated medication includes painkillers, multivitamins and antibiotics among other drugs.

Speaking at the presentation, Anis Chouman, managing director of Kairaba Pharmaceutical Company, said the company has been in The Gambia for 28 years and he strongly believes that he is also part of The Gambia and should contribute to complement government’s efforts in the prevention of covid-19.

He noted that the country in a trying time to find solution to the pandemic which he said requires everyone’s support. Mr. Chouman encouraged all businesses to come forward and give their support to the government and Gambian people.

Babanding Sabally, director of National Pharmaceutical Services of the Ministry of Health, emphasised the importance of the donation, noting that it is timely especially in this time when the world is grappled by covid-19.

He assured the donors that the drugs will be judiciously used for the desired purpose and thanked them for the support, saying that the medication will help in many ways.

Gibril Jarjue, director of planning and information at the Ministry of Health, called on the private sector to emulate Kairaba Pharmacy and to help in any means, saying they are supporting the Gambian people and not the president.
