Judiciary institute for training and research inaugurated

The Judiciary Institute for Training and Research situated at Mile 7 was recently inaugurated by the Chief Justice of The Gambia, Justice Ali Nawaz Chowhan.

The inauguration of the institute also coincided with a three-day capacity development training session for cadis, with funding from the UNDP.

Justice Chowhan, in his inaugural remarks said cadis should search for knowledge, and as Muslims have a vision “like prophet Yusuf who had a vision and kept himself pure.”

He said the judiciary has a vision to see the institution grow.

The Chief Justice stressed on the need for participants to seek knowledge, and take the training course seriously.

This would help them in their work, and make it easy, he added.
