Johnny Gomez ICC/ACA Regional Director for Northwest Africa

Johnny Gomez, President of Gambia Cricket Association who is currently in Durban, South Africa, attending the ICC/ACA AGM Meeting and Development Seminar is now the Executive Director for Northwest Africa, responsible for cricket in Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Morocco, Mali and Cape Verde

Johnny was elected Executive Member of the ICC/ACA Cricket Association, the sole body responsible for cricket in Africa, at the Durban meeting.

He was elected unanimously unopposed after been nominated by The Gambia and seconded by Mali.

Johnny Gomez is regarded as a leading figure in cricket and has been nominated by ICC/ACA Africa to officiate in the ICC/ACA Division 1 Tournament held last February in Kampala, Uganda.

He was also appointed again to officiate in the Division 7 Tournament in Botswana, which is higher than the division 1 Tournament he officiated.

He has already put on the BLACK FLY EMIRATE UMPIRE’S SHIRT in Gaborone, Botswana. He is the first West African ICC Panel “A” Umpire selected to officiate in higher tournaments like this.

Gambia Cricket Primary School Finals

Defending Champions St. Mary’s Lower Basic School will pull horns with Methodist Preparatory School in The Gambia Cricket Association Primary School league final sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank at the 22nd July Square in Banjul.

The Primary School League final is slated for this Friday 26 April 2013 and will kick-start at 4.00pm will attract sporting dignitaries, teachers, and schoolchildren.

AGM

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Gambia Cricket Association will be held on Friday19 May 2013 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau commencing at 4.00pm.
