KG Sports Academy based in Lamin yesterday concluded Inter-Academy football tournament in Lamin Village.

Speaking in an interview with Pointsport, Bakary Manneh alias Babai, president of KG Sports explained that the objective of the tournament is to bring local sports academies together under one umbrella and promote the spirit of sportsmanship within the young talents.

He added that this is the first time for their academy to host such event which brought together nine football academics within Kombo North.

He stated that four cadet categories participated in the tourney namely under 10, 12, 14 and 16 levels, and maintained that academies in the country have made immensely positive impact on football in the country.

According to Mr. Manneh the involvement of youths in the academies will prevent them from using illicit drugs, and that it is among their plans to engage the young in community service, and to concentrate more on football.
