IGI-Gamstar Settles D2.3M Gamtel Fire Claim

In what  could be described as a milestone in the country's insurance industry, IGI-Gamstar Insurance Company Limited, known for honoring its obligation has settled a total amount of D2.3M fire claim to Gamtel.

IGI, whose strategic alliance with Gamstar has given Gamstar impetus to leverage on expertise, financial strength, international connection and first class insurance facilities from Europe, is poised to serve the Gambia insurance consumers better.

According to Frank Uche, Managing Director of IGI-Gamstar Insurance Company, the fire claim followed a fire incident that happened at Gamtel offices in Brikama 23 days after the inception of the policy. "We are able to come in and settle the claim without considering the number of days," Uche said in an interview with this paper.

He stated that IGI-Gamstar offers all classes of Insurance except life, particularly the skills insurance area like aviation, contractors all risk and engineering, oil and energy insurance, marine and risk management services.

"Our claims pedigrees are quite outstanding in the market. We have always honored our obligations," he added.

Meanwhile Frank Uche, the new Managing Director of IGI-Gamstar is a chartered insurer of over 20 years experience. He is an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of London (ACII) and a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Nigeria (FCIIN).

He is representing IGI-Nigeria, who is the strategic partner of Gamstar. IGI is said to be the second largest insurance company in Nigeria with a total asset base of about 34 Billion Naira and a capital base of about 5 Billion Naira.
