IEC Announces Date for Kudang By-election

Following the notification from the Jangjangbureh Area Council of the demise of Councillor for Kudang ward, the late Maku Ceesay, the Independent Electoral Commission yesterday announced that it will conduct a by-election to fill the vacant post in the Jangjangbureh Area Council on Thursday 14th May 2009.

This, according to a statement from the Independent Electoral Commission office, is in accordance with section 23 of the Local Government Act; with respect to section 19 (a) of the same Act.
